Welcome to our complete list of Marmomac 2025 highlights! Recently, the Petros Stone team packed our bags and traveled to Verona, Italy.
If you have never heard of Marmomac, think of it as the biggest, most exciting festival in the world for natural stone. Imagine huge halls filled with giant blocks of marble, heavy cutting machines, and business owners from every country. It is the place where people go to see the future of building and design.
We did not just go there to look around. We went to learn, make new friends, and bring the best ideas back home to our customers.

1. Meeting Our Friends in Europe
When a business wants to sell products all over the world, it needs good friends in different countries. For us, one of those important friends is Mr. Engin.
Mr. Engin is our representative in Europe. This means he is our “boots on the ground.” He helps us understand what European buyers want and makes sure our stone gets to them safely.
Walking around a massive fair like Marmomac can be confusing, but Mr. Engin had a great plan for us. He set up an important meeting for us with a great company called Bosnia Granit.
Why does this matter to you? When we sit down face-to-face with companies like Bosnia Granit, we learn how they work. We learn about their smart machines and their high-quality standards. By sharing ideas with them, we can make our own processes better, which means we can provide you with even better stones.
2. The Most Beautiful Stones We Saw
The best part of Marmomac is seeing stones dug out of the earth from all over the world. Nature is the best artist! Here are the three types of stone that everyone was talking about:
A. The Rise of Indian Quartzite
We were so proud to see that a lot of people at the fair were looking at quartzite from India. But what is quartzite?
Many people love marble because it has beautiful, wavy lines. But marble is soft and can scratch or stain easily. Granite is very strong, but it usually just looks like tiny dots. Quartzite is the magic middle. It looks beautiful and wavy like marble, but it is super strong like granite.
Seeing so many international companies wanting Indian quartzite shows that our home country is producing some of the most premium and trusted stones in the world.
B. The Classic Impala Black Granite
We spent a good amount of time looking at Impala Black granite. This stone comes all the way from South Africa.
Black granite is a classic choice that never goes out of style. Impala Black has a beautiful, dark grey and black color. It is not completely solid black; it has tiny, soft details that make it look natural. It is incredibly strong, easy to clean, and looks perfect in both modern offices and cozy home kitchens.
C. The Glowing Beauty of Crystalline Onyx
Imagine a stone that looks like it is glowing from the inside. That is crystalline onyx.
This stone is slightly see-through (the big word for this is “translucent”). Designers love to take a slab of onyx and put bright lights behind it. When the lights turn on, the whole stone glows, showing off amazing colors and patterns. We saw a lot of this at the fair. It is perfect for fancy hotel lobbies, beautiful bathrooms, or a glowing bar top in a home.
3. Cool New Technology and Feeling the Stone
Stone is not just about digging rocks out of the ground anymore. Technology is changing everything.
A. New Quartz Printing by Breton
Have you heard of “engineered quartz“? This is stone that humans make by mixing real stone dust with special glue to make it extra strong.
At the fair, we looked at new machines made by a famous company named Breton. They have invented a new way to “print” colors and patterns right into the stone. In the past, printed stone looked a bit fake. But this new technology prints the pattern deep inside the stone. It looks so natural that it is almost impossible to tell it apart from real marble!
B. Stone You Can Feel
When you think of a kitchen counter, you probably think of something smooth and shiny. But the new trend is texture—meaning how the stone feels when you touch it.
Instead of just polishing the stone to make it smooth like glass, companies are using special brushes and water tools to make the stone feel different. Some stones were made to feel like soft leather. Other stones had deep 3D patterns carved into them, like a piece of art on a wall.
4. Furniture Made of Solid Rock
Finally, Marmomac showed us that stone is not just for floors and walls. We saw some incredible booths that looked like art museums.
Designers used special machines (called CNC machines) to cut solid rock into heavy dining tables, beautiful coffee tables, and even comfortable chairs! It was amazing to see how a heavy block of mountain rock could be carved into a smooth chair that you can sit on.
